PARKING

Our car park is directly outside our front doors, the entrance to it is via Grafton street. Do not enter via the main Cains gates, there’s another entrance opposite the Beesley and Fildes yard entrance further down Grafton Street.

Recently due to changes put upon us by our landlords parking is restricted to:

9am - 6pm 1 car per room

6pm - close No Restrictions

Those using the space(s) can collect a pass from reception in exchange for a form of ID. Please return these after your rehearsal as we need them to use for other bands.

There is free parking available on Grafton Street or you can park for a small charge in the Cains Brewery Pay and Display.

You can still load your gear in first and then move to your parking space.

Q: How do I book a room?

Q: What are your opening hours?

A: We are open from 9:30am to 11pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 11pm on Saturdays and Sundays.

Q: How much does it cost?

A: Our rooms are £8 per hour 9am to 5pm and £11 per hour 5pm to 10pm. We offer 10% discount for under 18’s and LIPA students and 20% discount for any bands using our cages.

Q: What do I get free?

A: Each room comes with a full PA, a drum kit, a guitar amp, a bass amp and a couple of mics and XLRs. More mics are available if you need them and we have snare drums and cymbals available for a small charge for your session.

Q: How easy is access and load in?

We have a ramp you can drive right down to our back doors with a clearing height of 3m for a flat load in. Our other door has steps but access to the ramp is available at all times.

Q: Do you have any permanent rooms available?

A: We don’t have any rooms available on a monthly basis, however we do have storage cages available on a monthly basis.

Q: Do you sell strings and things?

A: Yes. We have a small shop on site selling strings, leads, sticks, skins, picks and other bits and pieces you might need to rehearse.

Q: Can you store my gear?

A: Yes. We have secure storage cages on site that are available to hire for £150 per month. You get 4 hours a month free rehearsal with this and 20% off our hourly rate on top. They are 1.5m X 2m X 2.4m so there’s plenty of space for all of your backline. We will be happy to move your gear from your cage into your room before you arrive if you want us to. Half cages with half discounts are available for £75 a month.

Q: Can you fix my gear?

A: We have an in house luthier for all stringed instruments and we can point you in the right direction for everything else. Get in touch for details.

Q: Do you know any music teachers?

A: We have several private tutors who teach out of Sort and we’d love to put you in touch. Call us on +44(0)7414 055530 and we can chat about what you need.

Q: How soundproof are your rooms?

A: The soundproof reduction between rooms is approx 100dB.

Q: What is your cancellation policy?

A: If you cancel less than 24 hours before your booking starts you will be charged at the full rate of your session.

Q: Can we eat and drink in your rooms?

A: As long as you respect the rooms you can eat and drink while you rehearse. But we don’t take kindly to drinks on top of amps – you’ve been warned! We’d prefer if you drink from bottles with lids and don’t eat anything messy. Bear in mind we have to clean up after you. 

Q: Can we smoke on site?

A: No. Our front door gets the afternoon sun and is a nice place to sit and have a smoke. There is no smoking allowed anywhere inside our facility. This isn’t the 90s.
